Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Fine Payment

This website allows for the use of credit cards to pay civil penalties addressed in a Notice of Claim (NOC) to a Respondent. A Respondent is either a motor carrier, driver, shipper, freight forwarder or broker. In order to ensure that your payment is properly credited, it is essential that you fill in this form completely.
For clarification:
  • The Enforcement Case Number is referenced on the first page of the NOC. Enter it exactly as it appears on the NOC. For example, PA-2004-1234-PA9999.
  • If you are paying a penalty for a motor carrier, shipper or freight forwarder, you must also enter the USDOT Number for the company. A USDOT Number is not required for a Respondent who is a driver or broker.
Unpaid Civil Penalties and Interest, Penalties and Administrative Charges:
  • Civil penalties assessed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) that are not paid as required by a final agency order are subject to late charges which include interest, penalties, and administrative charges.
  • This website shows only the principal amount of the penalty assessed by FMCSA. If the final agency order assessing the civil penalty was served more than 30 days ago, you may also owe late charges which include interest, penalties and administrative fees. Until any late charges are paid or waived by FMCSA, even if you pay the amount shown on this website, you will not have full paid the civil penalty assessed against you.
  • If the final agency order was served less than 120 days ago, contact the appropriate Service Center using the contact information in the list below to obtain the total amount you owe. If the final agency order was served more than 120 days ago, contact the U.S. Treasury at 1-888-826-3127 to obtain the total amount you owe.

It is important to verify the accuracy of the information you have entered. Failure to correctly complete this transaction may result in your payment not being credited to your account. This could subject your operations to an order to cease operating in interstate commerce. If your submission is not accepted after three attempts, or if you have questions regarding policies or procedures related to FMCSA fine payments, please contact the FMCSA Service Center noted on the NOC for assistance.

Enter the Case Number and USDOT Number exactly as it appears on your Notice of Claim (NOC) Settlement Agreement Letter or Payment Coupon.
If there is no USDOT Number listed, you are not required to enter it.
